Bement 2007 - Getting in the Game |

|
Story and photos by Jenn Krok, who assists the editor of Pastoral Staff. Every day at Camp Bement starts off with “Celebrations,” a time when all campers and counselors come together to sing, talk and celebrate God. After Celebrations, campers break off into their groups and spend the day doing the activities they have chosen as a group. Many of the activities that take place are based around teambuilding and problem solving. The theme for camp this year is “Getting in the Game.” The staff found a way to use board games, sports and television game shows to create new evening and skill area programs and also incorporate the aspect of sportsmanship. GAME stands for Goals, Attitude, Motivation and Excellence. “E is especially important as we use this letter to discuss who we are in Christ,” Jill says. “We are all made in God’s image. We’re really proud of how the campers are embracing and getting excited about the GAME principals.” Summer Fun - Scenes from Bement 2007
In Memoriam Below, campers play on a new playground and climbing structure that will be dedicated to and named after Mark Rourke, the longtime director of Bement who succumbed to a long battle with cancer several years ago.
