Giving Opportunities

We know that in addition to the regular Eucharistic offerings you make at your local parish, from time to time you wish to make offerings to support the mission and ministry of the diocese. We thank God for your generosity. Many of you have asked if the diocese offers an electronic or automated option for giving opportunities.

Easy and simple for you, electronic giving allows your contributions to be transferred electronically from your checking or savings account or your credit card directly to the Diocese of Western Massachusetts through PayPal. When making your donation here, you can note if your gift is in thanksgiving for something or in memory of someone, so it may be properly acknowledged if you wish. If you have questions, please contact us.

Your offerings help us carry on Christ’s ministry of transformation and reconciliation as we work and pray together to develop healthy, mission-focused Christians and congregations who live the fullness of the baptism covenant wherever God places us.

Consider these Giving Opportunities within the Diocese:

Bishop’s Discretionary Fund: Assisting those in need. Your offering to this fund allows the Bishop to respond to those in particular need, to make benevolences to build up the Kingdom of God here on earth, and to fund new mission initiatives.

Pastoral Staff: Support Diocesan Storytelling. The cost per household per year of a subscription is $10. The Diocese is no longer assessing congregations for this cost. Rather, the Diocese is asking readers directly to support this vital ministry.

Ministry in Higher Education: College ministry in the Diocese has expanded. Invest in the work of nurturing and supporting college students in this diocese on their Christian faith journey.

Overseas Partners: Support the work of our missionaries and mission of our partners in Africa, the Diocese of Kumasi and Liberia, where your donation will go very far in supporting God’s work.

You may also wish to consider one of the following giving opportunities:

Episcopal Relief and Development: Working in partnership with the worldwide Church, ecumenical agencies and local organizations, Episcopal Relief & Development saves lives and strengthens communities around the world. Our programs work toward achieving the Millennium Development Goals, which aim to cut extreme poverty in half by 2015. Click here for more information.

Five Talents International: Five Talents’ mission is to fight poverty, create jobs and transform lives by empowering the poor in developing countries using innovative savings and microcredit programs, business training and spiritual development. Five Talents is the beneficiary of the Diocese’s Millennium Development Goals outreach. Click here for more information about Five Talents.
